My name is Jarrod West. I joined the SMT team in 2023 as Controller after spending most of my career within the home improvement big box retail sector. Originally hailing from Tuscaloosa, AL, I earned my undergraduate degree at Auburn University (War Eagle) and my MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech).

My Story

What is your favorite thing about the company? SMT's family-oriented culture, rooted in collaboration among team members and business partners.

What is your favorite food? While I've never encountered a carving station I didn't love, my weakness lies in crusty breads.

Do you have any pets? Yes, we have a mini-labradoodle named Barnsley, named after the place my wife and I got married.

Where have you traveled? I have traveled to 39 of the US states, including Alaska as well as Great Britain, Ireland, France, Greece, and Argentina.

What are some of your hobbies? Enjoying fine dining experiences with my wife, Claire, cherishing moments watching daughters, Rowan & Carter, in their various activities, and attending live sporting events, especially those featuring the Auburn Tigers or Atlanta Braves.

What is your favorite book? Any fiction by John Grisham & non-fiction by Michael Lewis.

What is your favorite line from a movie? The whole Caddyshack script…"And that's all she wrote."
